ROCK CARVINGS AND A LOCAL COFFEE DESTILLERY

At Vevelstad you can experience rock carvings dated back 6,000 years. At Forvik Ferry you can enjoy a good cup of coffee from the local coffee distillery at Forvik.

The Helgeland Museum department of Vevelstad is a good starting point to getting  to know this wonderful and diverse nature and history. Here you can walk along the well-marked Vistnes path, which goes through a rock carving field from the time around 4000 years BC.

An even greater and magnificent scenery can be found in the unspoilt national park Lomsdal-Visten, which is also described as the "Forgotten Land". You arrive here by boat or ferry from Forvik.

In population, Vevelstad is one of Norway's smallest municipalities, and lies between Brønnøysund in the south and Sandnessjøen in the north. If you take the time to stop along the way, you can experience Sculpture Landscape Nordland, a farmhouse café, a pleasant museum, rock carvings and a 300-year-old trading post with a coffee distillery.
