Daily Program for the Cycling Tour Along Namdalskysten
Experience the stunning Namdal coast on two wheels on this 5-day cycling tour! The journey begins in Steinkjer, cycling through picturesque farmland en route to Namsos. From there, we take a boat to the charming island of Jøa and continue to the coastal town of Rørvik, where you will have time to explore at your own pace. We will also visit the breathtaking island of Leka, renowned for its distinctive geology. The tour concludes with a boat trip to Sør-Gjæslingan, a historic island group, before wrapping up in Rørvik. Over these five days, you can look forward to beautiful landscapes and rich coastal culture.

Day 1: Monday - Steinkjer/ Namdalseid to Namsos
The tour begins in Steinkjer, with the first leg taking you to Namsos. For those who prefer a shorter ride, there's the option to start from Lensmannsgården in Namdalseid. The stretch between Steinkjer and Namsos, via Beistad/Vellamelen, is 81 kilometers and offers a challenging yet scenic ride. For participants cycling the entire distance, departure from Steinkjer is at around 10:00 AM. The first part of the journey, up to Lensmannsgården where we’ll have lunch, is a 38-kilometer route through hilly terrain.
Those opting for the shorter leg will take a bus from Steinkjer station at 1:33 PM, arriving at Lensmannsgården by 2:00 PM. The tour leader will transport bikes and luggage in the support vehicle, arriving at Lensmannsgården just before 2:00 PM. Lunch will be served from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
After lunch, we continue cycling from Lensmannsgården to the Scandic Rock City hotel in Namsos, a 43-kilometer ride. We expect to arrive in Namsos around 6:00 PM. Dinner will be served at the hotel at 8:00 PM, and there will be an opportunity to visit the Rock City exhibition (about 45 minutes), either before or after dinner.

Day 2: Tuesday – Namsos to Jøa
Start the day with a self-guided bike ride around Namsos, including a trip up to the Klompen hill for a stunning view of the town. The boat to Jøa departs from Namsos at 12:10 PM, arriving at Jøa by 12:50 PM. Check-in at Segelsund is at 1:00 PM, where you will prepare for a pleasant afternoon bike ride around Jøa. The route is still being finalized in collaboration with Segelsund but will include the new stairs at Jøa. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM, offering a chance to enjoy local cuisine and relax after an active day.

Day 3: Wednesday – Jøa to Rørvik
After breakfast on Jøa, we recommend a bike ride to one of the island’s attractions, such as Olav Duun’s childhood home, before the boat departs at 12:50 PM for Abelvær, arriving at 1:15 PM. From there, we continue with a 40-kilometer bike ride to Rørvik. Upon arrival, we will check in at Kysthotellet Rørvik, giving you some free time to explore the charming coastal town. Dinner is on your own, providing a perfect opportunity to try some of the local eateries. The tour leader will take a different route, traveling by ferries from Jøa to Ølhammeren and from Lund to Hofles, and may need to start a couple of hours ahead of the group.

Day 4: Thursday – Excursion to Leka
The day begins with a boat trip from Rørvik to Leka, whereas the tour leader will drive 70 kilometers with the support vehicle to meet the group upon arrival. After collecting the bikes from the boat, we will set out on a 30-kilometer bike ride around Leka. Several stops will be made along the way, including hikes to explore Leka’s unique nature and geology. Departure times will be arranged with the boat service. We end the day with a delightful dinner at 64 Grader Nord at 8:00 PM (subject to change).

Day 5: Friday – Sør-Gjæslingan
Friday offers an exciting boat trip with an opportunity to visit a local fish farm, combined with a stop at the historic island group of Sør-Gjæslingan. We will meet at the Norveg Coastal Museum at 10:00 AM for departure at 10:30 AM, returning at around 2:30 PM. For those interested, there will be an optional visit to the Norveg Coastal Museum or Berggården after the tour (not included). The cycling tour officially concludes around 3:00 PM, with several options for continuing your journey: You can take the northbound or southbound Hurtigruten, the boat to Namsos, or a flight to Trondheim.

The price for the tour starts at NOK 15,900 per person in a double room.
Single room price addition: NOK 2,500.
Electric bike price addition (regular bikes included in the price): NOK 1,500.
