FROM ISLAND TO ISLAND AT HERØY

At Herøy you can swim, fish or kayak in the unique archipelago with its 3122 islands. You easily travel by bike between the largest islands, which are connected by bridges. Along the way is chalky white beaches, as well as panoramic views to the mountain range De Syv Søstre.

Getting out to the islands by boat or kayak gives a sense of freedom. This beautiful group of islands bring you close to the elements of nature. You may witness a diverse wildlife, and there are great  fishing opportunities. Most accommodations offer boat rental.

Biking through Herøy will take you to many interesting places along the road; Helgeland Cathedral is a 12th century stone church with a wealth of cultural treasures. At Herøyholmen lies the spectacular flower shop Etcetera, which is an oasis in itself, providing a combination of flowers, licorice, interior and chocolate.

Visit the archipelago - Herøy og Dønna

Usually one does not talk about Herøy or Dønna individually due to the short distance and bridge connection between them. The bike ride from Herøy to the northern part of Dønna is about 50 km, and is considered one of the most scenic routes on the entire Helgeland coast.
